Little Gem Lettuce plant

Category :

Sucrine salad is an annual leaf vegetable. It is very resistant, little subject to diseases and benefits from rapid growth.

How to sow sucrine salad:

  • After loosening your soil, make a furrow 5 mm deep;
  • Sow your seeds 4 centimeters apart, then cover;
  • After around ten days, germination takes shape and the first shoots appear;
  • As soon as your plants are well developed, thin out to keep one plant every 30 centimeters.

Planted in the sun, in rich, light and fresh soil, this summer salad must be watered regularly. It particularly appreciates slightly acidic to neutral soil, with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.

To save space, install your sucrine lettuce between bean plants, tomato or cucumber plants. On the other hand, lettuce does not go well with corn, and it should be kept away from it.

When your sucrine plant is about 20 centimeters tall, then it is time to harvest your lettuce. Simply cut it at the base using a knife.

Sucrine salad is delicious, it is good for your health, because it is rich in potassium, magnesium, calcium and vitamins.
