The chive is planted in fertile and fresh soil but not too humid, with a sunny exposure. You will need to thin out the plants to keep 10 cm of space between them. You will need to be careful not to let the plant get invaded by weeds, and then you will need to water regularly in summer to maintain quality foliage.
To maintain vigorous plants, it is advisable to dig up the plants from time to time to divide them and replant the well-rooted bulbs.
The chive is harvested as needed, consuming it quickly afterwards. The cive is not susceptible to diseases or pests.
